Singles Sunday #16-Noel Noel

I'm hoping someone out there in internet-land can clue me in on some of the details about this one, because I really have no clue. Major label, but not something you hear every day. You're guess is really as good as mine on this one.  This is The Towne Choir with African Noel b/w Papa Noel (Capitol 7" 45 RPM 5538, Mono, 1965).  This is not the sort of thing that's going to hit like The Beatles in '65.

    I'm not sure about this specific recording, but regarding the song itself, it may be related to a humanitarian fund raising effort to assist the orphans of the Ugandan Civil War. Here are a few non-scholarly references:
