The Blackwoods Versus The Statesmen

I'm resharing this, my favorite Gospel Christmas music LP, with you today because I think it ties in nicely with something Lee posted over at his great blog, Music You (Possibly) Won't Hear Anyplace Else. My share features both The Blackwood Brothers and The Statesmen (alone and together) and Lee has a full LP by The Blackwood Brothers. How can you go wrong with that? All we need to fill this out is an LP of Christmas music by The Statesmen. Does such a thing exist? Nothing is coming to mind, but anything is possible. Anyhow, I first shared this out back in 2007, but now's your chance to download James Blackwood And The Blackwood Brothers Combine With Hovie Lister And The Statesmen To Wish You A Musical Merry Christmas (RCA Victor LPM-2606, Mono, 1962).

1. O Come, All Ye Faithful-The Blackwood Brothers & The Statesmen
2. Silver Bells-The Blackwood Brothers
3. Go Tell It On The Mountain-The Statesmen
4. Praises To Our King-The Blackwood Brothers
5. White Christmas-The Statesmen
6. Christmas Means Christ To Me-The Blackwood Brothers
7. Joy To The World!-The Blackwood Brothers & The Statesmen
8. Christmas Time Is Here-The Statesmen
9. O Little Town Of Bethlehem-The Blackwood Brothers
10. Away In A Manger-The Statesmen
11. O Holy Night!-The Blackwood Brothers
12. Silent Night! Holy Night!-The Statesmen

  1. Would love to find this album...my father left it in a brothers care along with all his other albums and he moved and accidently left all the albums. Contacted the home owner he rented from and they said they never saw it.
